A major chemical company in Poland prior to World War II, Grodziskie Zaklady Farmaceutyczne (Polfa Grodzisk) commenced operations in 1885. In the period after 1945, Polfa concentrated on API manufacture but gradually the company became involved in finished dosage production as well. | Gedeon Richter has been a household name in Russia for 50 years. The Company, which is known by the simple name “Gedeon” amongst the majority of Russian poeple, has always been very popular on the Russian market with is reliable, effective and affordable products. Therefore, the decision was made to set up a manufacturing unit in the town of Yegoryevsk near Moscow. | The history of Tirgu Mures-based Gedeon Richter Romania goes back to 1985, when the foundation stone of the pharmaceutical plant Armedica was laid. Manufacturing began four years later. It was in 1998 that Richter purchased a 50.98% majority stake in S. C. Armedica S. A. from the Romanian state, through Gedeon Richter Romania SRL. In 2003, Gedeon Richter Romania S.R.L merged with the public limited company S.C. Armedica S. A. | Gedeon Richter first established business relationship with Themis in 1969 when they became joint venture partners for the production of APIs and formulations. Currently Gedeon Richter has a 8.2% share in Themis Medicare Ltd. |

Richter-Helm is a dynamic and expanding biotechnology company located in Hamburg, Germany. Founded in 1997 as Strathmann Biotec the company was acquired by a joint-venture of Gedeon Richter Plc, Hungary and Helm AG, Germany in 2007. Richter-Helm operates a development facility located in Hamburg and two cGMP manufacturing facilities for microbial production in Hannover and Bovenau. |
